A Fun Day with My Friend, Gareth

Yesterday, my Mom and I took a taxi to Gareth’s home to play. Gareth’s Mom, Auntie Icy, made some strawberry pudding for us. It tasted good.

First, Gareth showed me his pet, Tommie the turtle. This was the first time I touched a turtle. It was so itchy when he was walking on my hand. I think I like Tommie and watching him shower but I am afraid of touching him.

Then, we went to their Club House to play table tennis. We all played happily.

Next, we went back home to make a snack, named ‘Pineapple Pizza’. Gareth showed me how to make, then I followed him to make. I put some tomato sauce, a piece of cheese, ham and pineapple on a slice of bread. After that, Gareth’s maid put them into the oven. I ate the pizza made by Gareth and Gareth ate the pizza made by me. It was so yummy and fun to make. Thank you, Gareth for teaching me making snacks! We all laughed when Gareth was talking about a football match. It was funny!

Gareth took out a book named ‘大智力200’. Gareth asked a lot of questions, like looking for 華盛頓 in a picture. It is quite hard but it is interesting. I like this book very much.

Then, Gareth and I played chess together. They were ‘四子連環棋’ and ‘Chinese Checkers’. Both of us won one game. Later, we played ‘Scrabble’. It was the first time Gareth played the game, but he won the game! I thanked Gareth very much for helping me putting a letter ‘C’ for ‘Clip’ and I got 24 marks! I think if I was Gareth, I would not help me. Now, I learnt helping people makes people happy.

We had dinner at about 8 pm. Gareth’s brother, Tony cooked yummy pasta with sausages, green and red pepper and some mushrooms. I like it better than the spaghetti cooked by his maid.

Gareth and I played the piano after dinner. His song named ‘Air Mail’ and my song named ‘Fur Elise’.

Then Gareth asked me to go to his room. We played 四子連環棋 again. I saw he has many little toys put on the drawers next to his bed. They are cute. Lastly, we played a very special game. (I don’t know the name.) We needed to follow the picture and filled the black holes ourselves. There are many levels. When it becomes more difficult, there are many black holes. We worked together to fill the black holes. I love this game!

I enjoyed this visit very much. Thank you Auntie Icy for giving me the books and the book that Gareth wrote. Thank you Gareth for lending me ‘Kung Fu Panda’ and ‘大智力200’. Thank you Tony for cooking dinner for us.

I like Gareth and his family because they are friendly and helpful. I hope I can play with them very soon again.

A Trip to 東莞 and 廣州

Last Sunday to this Wednesday, my parents, grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunts went to 東莞 and 廣州 with me.

Day 1
First, we went to東莞塘廈, the ‘Goodview Hotel’. It is so beautiful. We stayed in親水區, the Poolside room. We could jump into the water from our balcony. The pool is very big (8,000 square meter), it is like a jungle because there are many trees. There are also music and fog when we swam past some trees. There are slides. This is the biggest and the most beautiful swimming pool I never seen.

We had lunch and dinner at Han Palace, the Chinese Restaurant. The food was very yummy. After dinner, my cousin Ally and I played in the playroom. We jumped happily on the trampoline and the ‘Ball Pool’.

Day 2
In the morning, we ate buffet breakfast at the Solmar Restaurant, I took food I liked myself, like sausages and fry eggs.

In the afternoon, we went to the city centre, 樟木頭. I don’t like it. The shopping mall is big but the air-con is not cold enough. We bought some snacks at the mall. Then, we had lunch at a Chinese restaurant. Next, we went to buy DVDs.

At 4 pm, we went back to the hotel and swim again. The water was so cool. We took our snacks and drinks to the poolside and even ate them in the water.

At night, we ate dinner at Han Palace again.

Day 3
After breakfast, my Dad and I went swimming again. Then we took a bus to the train station and then went to廣州. The train was fast and beautiful. The fastest speed was 200 km per hour. I could see the speed, the time, the temperature and where we were going on the screen.


Then we went to a hotel named 景星酒店. This one is not very beautiful but it has computer and DVD player in the room. We had lunch at 康師父牛肉麵店. I like it.

At 7 pm, we had dinner with relatives live in 廣州. I don’t know those people but mom and dad were talking with the people happily. There was a lot of food to eat.

That night, I stayed in the same room with Ally and Elaine. We played and watched TV until 1 am.

Day 4
We got up early and had buffet breakfast. The food was not better than Goodview Hotel. Then, we walked to a very big book shop. We walked about half an hour. It was so hot. I bought two books about 圍棋 and some VCDs about table-tennis.

We had lunch with relatives live in 廣州 again. After lunch, we took MTR to廣州 train station. The MTR is smaller than the Hong Kong MTR. Next, we took a train to 深圳. Then, we took KCR to Tai Wai, to go home.

Before this trip I was unhappy because I could not take an aeroplane this year. But now I felt happy because this trip was fun. I like the swimming pool in Goodview Hotel and the buffet breakfast very much. I hope I can go to東莞 and live in this kind of beautiful hotel again.

My Second Term report card

On Thursday, my Mom went to my school hall to watch me get the certificates. I am glad I am still NUMBER 1.

Thank you teachers, mommy and dad for teaching me and helping me a lot this year. I will still work hard next year.

Next year I will go to 4A class. My friend, Jack, will be in the same class but other good friends, To To, Ivan and Peter will not be in my class. I am a little bit sad. I will go to their classroom to see them during recess time.

Going to the Cinema

Yesterday afternoon, my Mom and I went to a cinema to watch a movie named 'Kung Fu Panda'. It is a cartoon by Dreamworks.

This story is about a panda named Po. Po is so fat, he had a big tummy. When the movie starts, Po has a dream that he is a fighter, he kills many bad guys. Po’s father is not a Panda. He is a goose. He and Po work in a noodle shop. Po likes to be a fighter, but his father wants him to be a chef cooking noodles.

One day when he is watching the five fighters fighting. The Kung Fu Master ‘Tortoise’ says he is the best fighter, and he can defeat ‘Leopard’. Leopard’s kung fu is so good, but he was very mean and moody when he was young. So Turtle sent him to prison for 20 years. ‘Leopard’ escaped from the prison, even 1000 soldiers were watching him.

Turtle told ‘Shifu’ to teach Po kung fu. Po works very hard. If he doesn’t work hard, he doesn’t have food to eat. Soon, Po learnt all the kung fu from ‘Shifu’.

Po doesn’t need any kung fu secret, but he still defeats ‘Leopard’. At last he becomes the best fighter.

This story teaches us even you are not good at something, if you work hard, you will succeed.

I like this movie because the story is good and their talking is funny. Many people were laughing very loudly. I enjoyed the movie, the popcorns and the coke.

The English Drama Day

This morning, I performed two dramas in English in school.

The first drama was called ‘Billy, the Poor Boy’. My role is a friend of the main role, Billy. Billy is a poor boy. He eats little every day. He thinks of a way to earn money. I help him a lot as a friend. I have 8 lines to say. My costumes were a dark colour T-shirt and a pair of black shorts.

In the second one, I performed in a musical called ‘Lion King’. I played a lion and I sang a few songs. I dressed as a lion, the hair on my body was yellow and brown and I had a tail too. I looked like a real lion! I saw many schoolmates laughing happily when we were performing and they all clapped loudly at the end of the show.

In the first term, I performed in another musical called ‘Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’. I played an Egyptian. My costumes were beautiful.

I felt happy when I was performing the dramas though I was always shy to speak the lines loudly. But after today, I became brave. Mr. Jamie gave me a certificate in Performing Arts. I would like to perform more next year!

What I am scared of

When I see an animal on TV,

I laugh happily.

But when I see a dog on the street,

I scream and run quickly.

When I hear thunder,

I put my head under my pillow.

I am scared of bees and bugs,

Flies and butterflies;

When I see these insects,

I ran fast and yell loud.

I am scared of dog bark

And also the dark!

Visiting My Grandpa and Grandma

Last Sunday, my Dad and Mom took me to my grandparents’ home. We had lunch together. The '菠蘿冰' was delicious! I ate fried rice too.

After one hour, we all went swimming in the club house. There was a waterfall in the pool. Grandma and Mom let water fall on her their heads. Grandma didn’t know how to swim, she only went to 按摩池. Dad, Mum and I swam to the deep water zone. But Mom swam faster than me. Dad called himself ‘飛魚’, but he swam very slowly. My cousin, Ally brought a water gun to shoot water to me, even when I was five feet away from her, it still came to me.

Then, we went to a table tennis room to play table tennis. My grandpa was the best player. Ally didn’t know how to play, she hit the ball like frying an egg. I won the game with my Dad. Grandma didn’t play with us because she was tired after swimming.

Lastly, we went to a Chinese restaurant to have dinner. I liked ‘炸雞軟骨’ the best. All of us enjoyed ourselves a lot.

We will play more in the holiday. My elder cousin, Elaine, will come back from UK. We can play together soon.
